My name is Tim Pawl. I'm currently a fifth year graduate student in philosophy at Saint Louis University, studying with Eleonore Stump. I'm spending the 2007-8 academic year on fellowship at Notre Dame's Center for Philosophy of Religion. During my time at the Center for Philosophy of Religion, I will finish my dissertation on the truthmakers for modal truths in the thought of Thomas Aquinas.
My job search this year was successful. I'll be starting next fall as a faculty member of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Saint Thomas, in St. Paul, MN.
My primary areas of interest are Contemporary and Thomistic metaphysics and philosophy of religion. My dissertation puts the thought of St. Thomas Aquinas in dialogue with contemporary thinkers concerning the truthmakers for modal truths. I am a contributor at Prosblogion, a philosophy of religion blog.
I am the husband of another fifth year graduate student in philosophy at SLU (who is also a visitor at the Center for Philosophy of Religion); her name is Faith Glavey Pawl. I am the proud father of one son; his name is Henry Douglas Pawl.
